No charges against girl's adoptive parents
The criminal investigation of a Swedish couple who sent their adopted daughter back to her native Gambia has been concluded with no charges filed.
According to the newspaper Smålandsposten, prosecutors say they cannot substantiate allegations of unlawful detention.
The girl, now 14 years old, was brought to Sweden in 2009 but her adoptive parents put her on a plane back to Gambia two years later, saying they could not control her behavior. She returned to Sweden in 2010 and is now institutionalized.
