Sweden to assist Libyan evacuation effort from Malta
The Swedish foreign ministry has decided to send a Hercules plane to a British-led center in Malta, where different countries are to coordinate their efforts with regards to Libya.
The Swedish plane is scheduled to land in Valletta on Sunday evening. The idea is that the plance will be able to help evacuate foreign nationals who want to leave Libya.
As the plane flies to Malta, it is to carry medical supplies, which are intended to eventually reach Libya. According to Julin, the county is in dire need of such supplies.
Sweden's ambassador to Malta, Ulla Gudmundson is usually based in Stockholm, but has now travelled to Malta, presumably to help with the efforts there.
