At only four weeks, Oliver, the first pygmy hippopotamus calf ever born in Sweden, is already a sensation.

His first week was dramatic after his mother, Krakunia, refused to feed him. But the staff at Parken Zoo in Eskilstuna, an hour south of Stockholm, managed to milk Krakunia and feed Oliver by hand.

Last year only eight pygmy hippos were born in captivity but only six survived.

Visitors will be able to catch a glimpse of Oliver when the zoo opens in May.
