Police ask prosecutors to review expulsions
On Wednesday, the Stockholm police commissioner Carin Götblad asked prosecutors to review three cases from last summer where beggars were expelled from the country.
According to Swedish Radio News, a review of the police documentation in 45 cases of expulsion from last summer shows there is no evidence that the people who were expelled did anything illegal. Most of them were street musicians, Roma people from Rumania and Bulgaria. Swedish Radio News also found that none of those expelled were given legal aid, even though some of them spent more than three days in custody, which is when legal aid should be granted.
