The classic image of a nerd as a young man sitting cooped up in his room, with thick glasses and greasy hair, fiddling with his computer is beginning to give way. These days, it has become more accepted for men as well as women to be a nerd or a geek. One sign of this is the "nördcafé" at Stockholm's Technical Museum.

It's been around already for a few years, the "nerd cafés" in Stockholm. Every Wednesday, a nerd is invited to talk about a subject he or she is passionately interested in. And every week, the sessions, free of charge, attract an audience of 40-50 people.
