Sweden's Margot Wallström  – the special United Nations mediator on sexual violence in war time -- is critical of the UN Security Council position on Libya for ignoring this issue.

She adds that measures against sexual violence should be automatically included in UN statements on protecting civilians in Libya with the UN-approved no-fly zone to prevent Gaddafi regime air strikes on the opposition.

Meanwhile, commenting on the NATO-led operations in Libya, Swedish foreign minister Carl Bildt says he sees no immediate end to the conflict nearing its third month. He adds that it is extremely difficult from the air to influence the complicated conflicts on the ground between the opposition and government forces.
