Politician apologizes for controversial comment
The favorite to take over as head of the center-left Social Democrats in Stockholm has apologized for making a controversial statement in which she called sales jobs "crappy".
Karin Wanngård wrote on the site Newsmill on Wednesday that her comment was taken out of context, and that in reality, all jobs are important, because they help society and the business world function.
But she maintained that there is a growing sector of jobs with crappy conditions. She blamed this on the center-right government, whom she accused of cutting back on job training opportunities. She sees this as a reason why many have to take short term jobs rather than building needed skills through education.
