Proposed sex crime law rejected

Published tisdag 26 april 2011 kl 13.43

A proposed change in the sex crime law has been rejected by several government agencies. The proposed law would make sexual assault punishable by up to 4 years in prison and would make sex with anyone who hasn’t explicitly given permission illegal.

But the Prosecutor General, the National Courts Administration, the National Police Board and the Swedish Bar Association all say no to the proposed law.

The agencies believe that the law would be too difficult to interpret.
