The proposed new party chair for the Green Party was stabbed during a robbery in a southern Stockholm suburb Saturday night.

The party’s admninistrative director tells Swedish Radio News that 27 year old Anders Wallner is being treated at a hospital and under the circumstances is doing well.

The attack took place in Alby in the outskirts of Stockholm, but he managed to travel a few stops on the underground to Skärholmen, where he was found by police.

According to Aftonbladet online he was stabbed several times, and was brought to hospital where he was operated on during the night.

With the party conference coming later this month, Wallner was recently proposed by the selection committee as the Greens new chair.
