More calls about child sex abuse

Published söndag 8 maj 2011 kl 10.29

Following the recent revelation from former high jump star Patrik Sjöberg that he was sexually abused by his coach when he was young, the number of children complaining about such attacks has significantly increased.

The children’s rights organization BRIS says last week it received twice as many calls to its hotline about such abuse compared to the same period last year.

The day Sjöberg’s story became known, BRIS says, calls to the hotline tripled.
