Minks deserve a good life before becoming coats
Larger cages and toys to play with, those are some of the suggestions made by the National Board of Agriculture to improve the situation for minks in Swedish mink farms.
The board also suggests more frequent veterinary checks, Swedish Radio News reports.
“The mink is an active animal. They are hunters with a lot of energy and it is important that they have an outlet for their energy,” said Helena Kättström, at the Board of Agriculture.
Other measures suggested included mandatory education for breeders and at least two veterinary visits per year.
