Ulcer patients not given proper treatment

Published onsdag 11 maj 2011 kl 08.42
The discovery of the ulcer bacteria won the 2005 Nobel Prize in Medicine

Swedish Radio News says that according to a new report, less than half of Sweden’s ulcer patients are given the correct treatment. The Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment says  just 40 percent of those diagnosed with ulcers here are given antibiotics and anti-acids.

While it was previously believed that ulcers were caused by stress, it’s been known since 1982 that bacteria are responsible for the condition.
