Swedes not dead in Botswana crash, after all

Published tisdag 18 oktober 2011 kl 11.28

No Swedes died in the plane crash in Botswana, Swedish News Agency TT reports. The Swedish Foreign Ministry told Expressen.se that there may have been a mix-up and that the casualties may instead have come from Switzerland.

According to the first reports, three to four Swedes were believed to have died in the crash. The Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana confirmed the reports yesterday.

But now Travel World, the travel agency that organized the trip, told TT that no Swedes died in the crash. According to the agency, the people who died were from Switzerland.

Seven people died in the crash. There were 11 people on board the Cessna plane, which crashed shortly after takeoff from the airport in Xakanaka yesterday.
