Fan fined in soccer hooligan case
The supporter who ran onto the playing field during a soccer match between Malmö FF and Helsingborg this spring was fined by a Malmö court this morning for minor assault and crimes against the Public Order Act, Sweden’s TT News Agency reports.
The man stood trial for throwing a firecracker at the HIF goalkeeper, then running onto the field and attacking him until security guards pulled the hooligan off the goalie.
During the trial the 19-year-old said he had imbibed between 10 and 15 beers before the match and that he has no memory of the incident.
Evidence used in the case included video footage and witness testimony, Swedish Radio News reports.
