A broken oil line caused a fire to break out at an oil refinery in Nynäshamn south of Stockholm. Ulf Lindgren at the police’s alarm communications centre told Radio Stockholm that the winds are not blowing towards Nynäshamn.

The oil supply was cut off, which means oil in the pipe in question will burn out. Firefighters are now focusing on cooling down the surrounding area. The priority is to prevent the fire from spreading, said Lindgren.

Hans Östlin, communications director with the owner of the refinery, told TT that there is no risk of the fire spreading, writes Swedish Readio
