No action against policeman's "gay cancer" remark

Published torsdag 27 oktober 2011 kl 19.14

A police officer who was reported for calling a gay colleague a "cancerous tumour on society" will not be facing an inquiry, says the head legal expert at Skåne police.

The man was reported for a hate crime by the force's hate crimes trainer herself, Jeanette Larsson, after she overheard him abusing her, and telling a colleague that he didn't like her being openly homosexual.

But the police's legal expert, Mårten Unbeck, says that it is impossible to know exactly what the man said, and hence there is no grounds for taking the complaint further.
