Unpaid Latvian workers

Police knew about cases

Latvian Embassy letters

Swedish police reveal that they have known for a year about a Swedish company tricking Latvian workers out of their salaries for construction and farm work done in different cities and towns here.

It was only after Swedish Radio News reported the case that earlier complaints to the police become available - and these included letters from the Latvian Embassy in Stockholm.

Police working on human trafficking say they reject criticism that they have not done anything and insist that they haven't forgotten the case and are still looking for more evidence.
