Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly couple in October. The husband, 71, and the wife, 69, were found at home on their milk farm with their hands tied behind their backs. He was found in the barn, his wife's body in the house.

Police said both victims had been subjected to extreme violence. A safe had been removed from the house in the village of Långered near Alingsås in southwestern Sweden.

Three men were initially taken in by police in connection to the murder. They were all released and two new suspects have now been arrested in their absence, reports the news agency TT.
