13-year-old crashed parents' car

Published söndag 13 november 2011 kl 10.26

Nine people were taken to the hospital Saturday night with slight injuries after two cars, one driven by a 13-year-old, collided north of Luleå in the north of the country, reports news agency TT.

The 13-year-old girl was driving her parents' car. Her friend, little brother, and his friend were also in the car.

Police were finally able to contact the girl's parents Sunday morning. They said they were asleep and had not noticed that the car was gone.

"The parents went to see the children this morning at the hospital," says Erik Kummu, Norrbotten police officer. "All of them have slight injuries, and for our part, this is over. The social services will take over the case because no criminal complaint has been filed."

The 13-year-old girl told the police it was the first time she had driven a car.
