Drink Driver Steals Back Car From Police

Published fredag 8 oktober 2004 kl 15.19

A drunk driver was arrested for a second time in a day after he stole his own car from the police and ran it into a ditch.

The 53 year old man, who’s now being treated in hospital for minor injuries, had been pulled over in the first place for swerving all over the road on the outskirts of Stockholm.

Police impounded his car and he was fined and set free. But he then took a taxi back to the place where the police had left his car and took it back, using a spare key.

He then took off at high speed when he was spotted by police on the way to tow the car. He swerved off the road, flipping the car.

He’ll face charges of drunk driving and violating police orders.
