Young Delinquents Sabotage Stockholm Transport

Published måndag 11 oktober 2004 kl 16.28

Swedish police and local government authorities are expressing outrage and frustration – unble to stop the juvenile delinquent violence against public transportation .. with youngsters throwing stones at bus and commuter train windows and placing bicycles and other heavy objects on the tracks.

Company officals say no one has been hurt yet – but that this could happen with a de-railed train.

Some night time bus and train runs have been cancelled altogether – forcing residents to seek other ways in and out of the city center.

Suburban residents insist everybody in the area knows who the guilty ones are – but that the police are still unable to round people up – except for a few exceptions this week end.

Police argue that the situation is getting worse with older teen-agers recruiting flocks of 12 and 13 year olds to join their gangs.
