Sex in Sweden

Published onsdag 13 oktober 2004 kl 13.16

According to a new study, Swede’s have sex 94 times a year, a low compared to other nations.

This goes against the popular myth that Swede’s are one of the most sexually active people in the world. At the same time though the study showed that Swede’s change partners frequently and often don’t use protection.

64% of the people asked said that they did not use protection in casual relationships, despite the risk of being infected by a sexually transmitted disease.

The Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control has expressed concern over the high numbers, and a spokesman said that an information campaign should be started about the risks involved in having unprotected sex.

He added that ”far too many people don take the risk seriously.”
