Swedish Firm Wins Big Gas Contract
The Swedish construction firm Skanska has been awarded a contract worth 940 million Swedish Kronor for building work on a huge Norwegian gas field project
Work at the plant in Western Norway, which will include buildings for compressors and electricity supply, underground piping installation and roads, is set to begin in December and should finish in September 2006.
Development of Ormen Lange, which will be Norway’s second largest gas field, is expected to cost
9.98 billion dollars and is scheduled to go into production in October 2007 when gas will be exported to Britain through the world’s longest underwater gas pipeline.
