There was disappointment for Sweden’s Joachim Johansson as he was knocked out of the Madrid tennis masters at the quarter-final stage.

The 22 year old Swede lost in three close sets 7-6 6-7, 7-6 to Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia.

He’ll now travel back to Swden for the Stockolm Open, which starts on Monday.

Golf’s Solheim Cup will return to Sweden in 2007. The biennial event, which pits Europe’s top women golfers against their American counterparts , will be contested on the South-West coast in Halmstad.

Sweden’s World Number 1 Annika Sorenstam, led Europe to a seven point victory over the USA in 2003.
