Published fredag 22 oktober 2004 kl 17.28

A Swedish art dealer says he’s received a record bid for a Rembrandt painting, of 46 million dollars, believed to be from a Swede..

The painting called ” Minerva in her study” has been on display in Verner Aamells private art gallery in Stockholm, under armed guard, for four weeks and the exhibition was set to end on Friday. The sale could be finalised as early as next week.

Aamell said the potential buyer is a Swede who would put the Dutch masterpiece on display in the National Museum in Stockholm.

The painting is owned by a Canadian.
