There was a home town winner at the Stockholm Tennis Open on Sunday as Thomas Johansson put his injury problems behind him to beat the number 1 seed Andre Agassi and take the Open for the second time in his career.

Johansson came back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 before a packed crowd that included Agassi’s wife Steffi Graf.

In football, 25 thousand people packed into Malmö’s main square yesterday to celebrate the city football club’s success in winning the Swedish first Division title for a record fifteenth time.

Malmö’s 1-0 win over Elfsborg on Saturday was enough to snatch away the title from Halmstad, who were held to a 1-1 draw by IFK Gothenburg, and finished two points behind.
