Swedes Unprepared for Terror Strike

Published onsdag 3 november 2004 kl 12.57

The Swedish Rescue Services Agency invited international colleagues to a Stockholm seminar, focusing on the March terrorist hits on Madrid.

According to the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, the Swedes were impressed by their Spanish colleagues but don’t feel quite as confident on the homefront.

Stockholm's rescue services do not have the capacity to cope with large terrorist attacks and workers are said to be mentally unprepared to work in situations where hundreds might be dead or injured.
