Israel’s embassy in the fashionable Östermalm area of Stockholm is being forced to move after 50 years, and is now looking for a suitable location.

The owner of the building says the embassy poses a security risk and that the many demonstrations staged outside the building disturbs the neighbours.

Ambassador Eviator Manor gave his reaction to Swedish Television news saying he’s never noticed a problem and thought most appreciated the extra security which prevented burgleries.

After a legal battle, the embassy now has two years to move.
