Swede found dead in Morocco

Published torsdag 5 april 2012 kl 18.23

A 48-year-old Swedish man was found murdered in Marrakesh earlier this year. Moroccan authorities initially insisted that it was an accident but the police have now arrested one suspect in the case.

The man was found dead in a rough area in the outskirts of Marrakesh in February. The police initially insisted it was an accident and that the man smelt of alcohol when he was found.

"He hasn't had a drink for 15 years, all the alarms were going off," his brother tells news agency TT.

Anna Backlund, at the foreign affair ministry, confirms that one person has been arrested and says that the man has confessed to murdering the Swede.
