Police prepare for racist demonstration

Published fredag 6 april 2012 kl 09.37

The police in Gothenburg are preparing for trouble as members of the National Democrats, an extreme rightwing group, are scheduled to meet at Kortedala square later on Friday.

The demonstration is held to protest against "today's multicultural social experiment," the group writes on their website.

Anti-racist groups, including the Socialist Justice Party, will hold a counter-demonstration.

"We will have a high police presence. We can't guarantee that there wont be any fighting," police spokeswoman Pia Goksöry, tells news ageny TT.
