Sweden urbanizing faster than the EU

Sweden has the fastest growing urbanization of all the countries in the EU, reports news agency TT. The population in Sweden's most urban areas increased by 17.3 people per one thousand people in 2010, according to statistics from the European Union.

That puts Sweden at an average rate of growth three times the average of the EU.

Malmö, Umeå, and Stockholm are three of Europe's fastest growing cities. All three cities have grown by more than one percent every year since 1994.

But Sweden is not as urbanized as Belgium, the Netherlands, or England.
