National interest rate stays at 1.5 percent

Published onsdag 18 april 2012 kl 09.56

The Swedish central bank has announced that the national steering interest rate will remain unchanged at 1.50 percent.

In a press release the bank also said that the prognosis from February still stand and that the interest will not be lowered later this year.

In February, when the central bank lowered the interest rate, there were expectations that the rate would be lowered again to further stimulate the economy.

The spring budget, presented on Monday, included an indication that the government expected the rate to be cut to 1 percent.
