Sweden is one step closer to figuring out how its new money will look when the banknotes are issued with new designs in about three years.

Graphic designer and engraver Göran Österlund's proposal, entitled "cultural journey", won the competition, arranged by Sweden's central bank (Sveriges Riksbanken).

The 20 crown note, worth about $3.00, will feature author Astrid Lindgren, troubadour Evert Taube is to appear on the 50 crown note, and actress Greta Garbo will grace the 100 crown note. Other bills will feature Ingmar Bergman, Birgit Nilsson and Dag Hammarskjöld.
