Building workers out on strike
Around 1,200 building workers, among them metal workers, went on strike this morning at 6:00 a.m., according to news agency TT.
The decision to strike came after the building trade union Byggnads turned down proposals by union members and employers in the plumbing and sheet metal industry.
Torbjörn Johansson, negotiations secretary at Byggnads, told TT that the the union's demands were not met. Demands included reduced annual amount of working time by seven hours, and a recalculation of apprentices' wages.
