Building workers live dangerously
With as many as 15 serious injuries a month, the building industry is one of Sweden's most dangerous sectors.
News agency TT reports that at least one building worker dies each month in an accident, and that most of those injured or killed are under the age of 24.
High-pressured working environments, such as short-term building projects, lead to greater risks being taken than usual. The time pressure can lead to safety measures being overlooked.
According to TT, another contributing factor to accidents among building workers is an insufficient level of education.
