Larsson undergoes hernia op to be fit for Euro 2012
Swedish winger Seb Larsson has undergone a hernia operation in order to be fit for the European Football Championships in Poland and Ukraine.
Larsson's club Sunderland confirmed that he had been in Manchester earlier this week to undergo the "minor operation" which means he will miss the final three games of the English Premier league season, including the clash with title chasing Manchester United.
Larsson told news agency AFP " "this means the conditions to be prepared for Euro 2012 are much better than if I had to wait until the end of the season."
Sweden's Euro 2012 opener is against co-host Ukraine on June 11.
