Women set sights lower in wage negotiations

Published lördag 28 april 2012 kl 16.07

When women negotiate a pay rise with their boss in Sweden they tend to be less ambitions than their male colleagues, according a new survey from Yougov.

While a majority of men compare their pay level to another man the highest pay brackets, women are more likely to compare themselves to a more modestly paid woman.

At the top executive level, the Yougov survey found that men generally look for 50 percent more than women.

Just over a thousand people responded to the online survey.
