A new poll finds that 41 percent of Swedish journalists think the Green Party is the best, reports Swedish Television.

The Institute for Communication, Media, and Journalism at Gothenburg University has investigated all elections in which the Green Party has participated. Kent Asp, the professor responsible for the research, says because journalists like the Green Party, their coverage of the party is more favorable.

"The Green Party is not investigated as hard as the others," Asp tells Swedish Radio. "In a way, the Green Party is in an untouchable zone and is treated like the crème de la crème by media".

Since the last poll of Swedish journalists in 2005, support for the Green Party has increased by 19 percent. The second most favorable political party is the Left Party, followed by the Social Democrats and the Moderates, who both have 14 percent support.

Swedish Radio is home to the highest percentage of journalists who favor the Green Party – 54 percent.
