A ferry shuttling between Sweden and Germany and carrying more than 60 passengers ploughed into a Danish-owned ship last night, reports the news agency TT.

The accident took place on TT-Line's Trelleborg to Trävemunde route. A spokesperson said there were no reports of injuries among the passengers nor among the 50 crew members onboard the Nils Holgersson.

The hull of the Danish ship Urd was pierced by the ferry but both ships were last night brought safely back to harbour.
