Get ready for first Swedish 'taters
Sweden's first crop of potatoes is about to hit dinner plates. Two farmers on Bjäre peninsula in southern Sweden harvested the new potatoes on Thursday, reports regional newspaper Sydsvenskan. This in spite of the unseasonally cool month of April.
The Swedish Potatoe Society tells Sydsvenskan that whole-sellers and restaurants have eagerly been awaiting the first harvest - now selling at US$45 per kilo.
