The mother of a 19-year-old woman slain in a suspected honour killing in Landskrona has been released by the police.

The prosecutor still believes the mother, 39, is implicated in the killing, but the district court ruled that evidence was not strong enough to keep her in custody, reports the news agency TT.

She was originally detained on suspicion of instigating the murder.

Her 17-year-old son remains in custody on suspicion of having carried out the killing.
