Some 10-15000 Swedish football fans are preparing to head to Ukraine for the European Football Championships and the national games against England, France and Ukraine.

And while the Swedish politicians have decided they will not be going to Kiev, in protest against the treatment of the jailed former Prime Minister Julia Tymosjenko, Swedish football fans certainly are.

Filip Gunnarsson, member of the board of Camp Sweden, which organises the Swedish fans in the Championships, is currently on a reconnaisance trip to Kiev. To listen to an interview with him, click on the link above.

In addition to the fans expected to travel from Sweden to Ukraine, Swedish police is also sending 10-15 police officers, who according to the National Police Board will "facilitate" things for the Swedes, but also "assist local police if there are any Swedish fans suspected of or arrested for crimes".
