Weather

Rain and thunderstorms, some of them powerful, are in store for southern and central Sweden on Sunday. Along the coasts, however, and on the islands of Öland and Gotland, the weather is sunnier. In the North, rain is expected, along with a chance of thunderstorms.

There are several mild weather warnings in effect: the mountains of Dalarna and Jämtland could get more than 35 mm of rain Sunday night. There is also a mild weather warning in effect for gales hitting western Skagerack on Sunday. Powerful thunderstorms and squalls could also hit parts of eastern Sweden (Västmanland, Örebro, Södermanland, Östergötland, Kalmar, Jönköping, Kronoberg and Blekinge) Sunday afternoon and evening.

Sunday's temperatures throughout the country should range from 16 to 25 degrees Celsius.

On Monday, sunny skies should stretch over the southern half of Sweden, however, the northern half will likely get showers, and in some places, downpours.

Temperatures Monday should range from about 16 degrees Celsius to 22 degrees, though significantly lower in the mountains.
