Swedish politician survives fatal Cuban car crash
The leader of the youth wing of the Swedish Christian Democrats has been injured in a car crash on Cuba that killed Cuban democracy activist Oswaldo Payá.
Aron Modig is currently in hospital on Cuba, but according to party colleagues is doing well under the circumstances.
He was in Cuba to meet with democracy activists, including Oswaldo Payá, when the car they were travelling hit a tree, according to the news agency TT.
Payá was nominated twice for a Nobel Peace Prize for his activism on Cuba.
