Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic got off to a good start playing his debut soccer game for Paris Saint-Germain Saturday night.

Ibrahimovic, who is also the captain of the Swedish national football team, made the transfer from AC Milan to PSG earlier this month, where his yearly salary, around US$ 15 million after taxes, has drawn criticism during a time of austerity. However, citing performances like the one he gave last night, Ibrahimovic's champions will surely say he is worth the price.

The exhibition game pitted PSG against the American team, D.C. United, and just two minutes into the game, Ibrahimovic raced to collect a pass from his teammate Jeremy Ménez, before shepherding the ball past the defense and neatly drilling it into the goal with his left foot.

The game, however, ended in a tie: 1-1.
