Agency heads called on the carpet
Minister for Enterprise Annie Lööf is calling a meeting next week of the heads of all the government agencies under her responsibility.
This follows revelations in the newspaper Dagens Nyheter of spending irregularities at the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth and Vinnova, the agency that administers state funding for research and development.
The newspaper says both agencies broke their own guidelines in treating staff to expensive dinners, wine and chocolate tasting and other social activities.
Marita Ljung, state secretary at the Ministry for Enterprise, tells the TT news agency “We want to tell them clearly that they have to restrain their entertaining and we’ll discuss exactly what they plan to do.”
