Springsteen fraud investigation in limbo?
The prosecution and the police in Gothenburg have seemingly issued contradictory statements about the preliminary investigation into the company that sold non-existent tickets for last weekend’s Bruce Springsteen concerts there.
Swedish Radio News in Gothenburg reports that prosecutor Göran Hansson will not appeal a court decision to release the head of the company because of a lack of evidence. But he says the investigation will continue.
However, the TT news agency reports that the Gothenburg police say the investigation is closed, because they can’t prove intention to defraud by the website Biljett.nu.
The site has already said it will compensate customers who failed to receive the promised tickets.
