Households waste more food

Published fredag 3 augusti 2012 kl 12.00

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency says it is households that are responsible for most of the food thrown away here. The newspaper Dagens Nyheter reports that a new study contradicts the previous belief that most food wastage came from grocery stores, restaurants, and industry.

It reveals that around one million tons of food is thrown away every year in Sweden, and of that, households toss out 674 thousand tons.
