Fake cop robs driver

Published tisdag 7 augusti 2012 kl 09.02

A woman was stopped while driving by a man who said he was a policeman but turned out to be a robber, Swedish news agency TT reports.

The woman was driving her car Monday night in the county of Västergötland on the Swedish west coast when she was stopped by a car with a blue flashing light. When the woman stopped at the side of the road, a man came up to her car and presented himself as a police officer and asked for her car keys.

The man tried to take the woman's keys, but she started to drive off. The man grabbed hold of a gold necklace she was wearing and wouldn't let go until it broke off her neck.

The woman escaped the robbery without injury, TT reports.
