Statistics Sweden reports that inflation dropped in Sweden between June and July, and industrial output rose.

During the period the Consumer Price Index went down by 0.4 percent. The 12 month inflation rate in July was 0.7 percent, compared to 1.0 percent the month before, far  below the central bank target of 2 percent.

Lower prices for clothes, electricity and vegetables contributed to the reduction in the consumer index, making up for increases in gas prices and the cost of packaged holidays.

Meanwhile, Statistics Sweden also reports that Sweden’s industrial output rose by 0.4 percent in June, compared to the previous month, rising b y 1.4 percent during the April-June quarter, according to a preliminary estimate. For the first time since January, industrial output rose on an annual basis.
